About Andrew Do
Andrew Do is a former prosecutor and volunteered to sit on various matters for the Orange County Superior Court as a Judge Pro Tem. Having spent 8 years with the Orange County District Attorney's Office, he prosecuted violent criminals and sex offenders as Orange County's Sexually Violent Predators (SVP) Deputy DA.
Currently serving as the Chief of Staff to Orange County Supervisor Janet Nguyen, Andrew helps oversee County staff and is responsible for all policy issues, from Budgets to Public Transits to Strategic Planning, facing the County and Cities in the First District, including Garden Grove.
As a graduate of the University of California, Davis and the University of California, Hastings Law School, Andrew is a strong supporter of education. He has also taught as an Adjunct Professor at Cal State Fullerton and has published in the University of San Francisco Maritime Law Journal.
Andrew has dedicated countless hours to different community organizations throughout Orange County. He previously served as a Board member to St. Anselm's Cross Cultural Community Center and the Orange County Bar Association and was a member of the United Way Selection Committee.
Andrew’s family first came to America in 1975, escaping with only the clothes they were wearing. After leaving Saigon, Andrew’s family moved through different refugee camps in the Philippines and Guam, before arriving at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. They then relocated to Alabama before moving to Garden Grove, California to work in the then-growing electronics industry in Orange County.
Andrew has deep roots in Garden Grove, having attended Jordan Jr. High and Bolsa Grande High School. After completing his schooling to become a lawyer, he returned to Orange County to help make our community a better, safer place to live, work and play.
Andrew’s wife, Cheri, has been a Deputy District Attorney for the past eleven years in the Orange County DA’s Office and they have two daughters.
